Don’t Let Your Body Feel The Blues

Music and cannabis go hand in hand with one another.  Some of the most prominent artists and musicians have relied on cannabis for centuries and continue to do so to this day. Musicians are often victims of physical pain and discomfort that may result in Repetitive Strain Injuries due to sitting in awkward positions for long amounts of time, holding heavy equipment and so on. While it’s easy for any musician to become used to physical pain or discomfort, letting these injuries continue will have long term damaging effects.

For all artists, musicians or individuals experiencing physical pain, discomfort or skin irritations there is hope! Research suggests that our skin is our biggest organ and while smoking or ingesting THC/CBD may seem like a great go-to for pain relief, rubbing THC/CBD directly onto the skin is actually the best way to take care of localized pain because the skin has an incredible ability to absorb medicine.

So what exactly is a topical? A topical is simply cannabis in the form of a cream, salve, oil, ointment, lotion, transdermal patch, lubricant, etc. According to the U.S National Library of Medicine, when THC/CBD is applied topically the skin absorbs the cannabinoids and stimulates the endocannabinoid system without passing through the bloodstream; therefore, using a topical will not produce a psychoactive high.

Topicals containing cannabinoids THC and/or CBD are capable of providing pain relieving and anti-inflammatory responses, helping those with a variety of conditions with symptoms ranging from chronic to acute.  So to all artists, musicians and individuals who long to stay in good health, try finding a topical that works for you because it could really make a difference in your long-term health.
